Ashley Kimo Artis

Ashley “Kimo” Artis is an award winning singer/composer/producer and performer. He has been a member of the award winning group “Kanilau”, for the past 16 years. Kanilau won the prestigious 1995 Ka Himeni Ana Award for best Hawaiian acoustic vocal performance. Kanilau has recorded 7 CD’s earning multiple Hoku nominations and was awarded the 2005 Na Hoku Hanohano Award for best Christmas Album. After retiring from a 20 year career with FedEx Corporation in 2004 Kimo has been pursuing a solo career. He is in the process of recording his first solo CD and plans to release it early next year. He is a veteran musician of many hula competitions all over the world, playing for some of the best Hula Halau worldwide.

He has shared the stage with Danny Kaleikini, Nina Keali’iwahamana, Kapena, Makaha Sons, Weldon Kekauoha, Loyal Garner, Na Palapalai, Lim Family, Darlene Ahuna, Marlene Sai, O’Brien Oselu, and Na Kama. He currently performs with Raiatea Helm, Leilani Rivera Bond, Nohelani Cypriano, and Palani Vaughn. Kimo has performed in Japan, Korea, Mexico, California, Utah, Montana and Washington, with his performances at Carnegie Hall in 2005 and 2008 being the highlight. Kimo currently performs on the Navatek Dinner Cruise, Royal Hawaiian Hotel, and the Sheraton Waikiki. Kimo is respected for his professionalism, distinguished vocals and excellent musicianship that he brings to every performance.
